Dugla means "clay pot" in Gurune, the local language in Bolgatanga in Ghana's Upper East Region. This small container is used locally to store shea butter. The tall Dugla basket was born out of admiration for the everyday life of the Gurunsi who live throughout Bolgatanga. The rituals involved in making shea butter reflect community, culture and ancient traditions.
